High holding voltage clamp

An electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection device coupled between a first node and a second node, comprising:

• a first silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) including a first PNP transistor and a first NPN transistor, the first SCR further including a first anode electrically coupled to the first node, a first cathode, and a first control tap electrically coupled to a base of the first NPN transistor;
• a holding voltage tuning circuit including a transistor, wherein the holding voltage tuning circuit further includes a second anode, a second cathode, and a first control node, wherein the second anode is directly electrically connected to the first control tap, and the second cathode is directly electrically connected to the second node;
• a connection circuit electrically coupled between the first cathode and the first control node;
• and
• an electrical element electrically coupled between the first cathode and the second node, wherein a voltage is dropped across the electrical element during an ESD event;
• wherein the ESD protection device is configured to trigger during the ESD event to protect circuitry between the first node and the second node.
