Strain relief bar in a server rack

A server rack comprising:

• a mounting rail;
• a power shelf secured to the mounting rail, the power shelf includes a plug;
• and
• a strain relief bar secured to the mounting rail, the strain relief bar includes:
• a mounting bracket to secure the strain relief bar to the mounting rail;
• a extension portion extending from the mounting bracket;
• and
• a main portion connected to the extension portion, the main portion includes:
• a plurality of secure slots, when the strain relief bar is secured within the server rack, a component is connected to the main portion through at least one of the secure slots, and a combination of the mounting bracket, the extension portion, and the main portion supports a portion of a weight of the component within the server rack to reduce strain on the plug of the power shelf by the component.

A system comprising:

• an information handling system;
• a power shelf device including a plug, the power shelf device to provide power to the information handling system;
• a server rack to house the information handling system and the power shelf device, the server rack including:
• a mounting rail;
• a strain relief bar secured to the mounting rail, the strain relief bar includes:
• a mounting bracket to secure the strain relief bar to the mounting rail;
• a extension portion extending from the mounting bracket;
• and
• a main portion connected to the extension portion, the main portion includes:
• a plurality of secure slots, when the strain relief bar is secured within the server rack, a component is connected to the main portion through at least one of the secure slots, and a combination of the mounting bracket, the extension portion, and the main portion supports a portion of a weight of the component within the server rack to reduce strain on the plug of the power shelf device by the component.
