Abstract
An example apparatus can include a sliding patch panel. The sliding patch panel can include a plurality of first ports. The sliding patch panel can include a plurality of second ports. In the example apparatus, at least one respective second port of the plurality of second ports can be operatively connected to at least one corresponding first port of the plurality of first ports. In the example apparatus, the sliding patch panel can be configured to slide into and out of one or more slots.
Claims20
An apparatus comprising:
- a sliding patch panel comprising:
- a plurality of first ports;
- and
- a plurality of second ports, wherein at least one second port of the plurality of second ports is operatively connected to at least one corresponding first port of the plurality of first ports;
- wherein the sliding patch panel is configured to slide into and out of one or more slots.
A computing system comprising:
- a plurality of computing devices;
- a rack configured to accept the plurality of computing devices;
- and
- a sliding patch panel configured to slide into and out of the rack, the sliding patch panel comprising a plurality of first ports and a plurality of second ports.
A method for reconfiguring a network topology of a network of computing devices, comprising:
- sliding, from a slot in a server rack configured to hold a plurality of computing devices of the network of computing devices, a sliding patch panel comprising a plurality of first ports and a plurality of second ports, wherein at least one port of the plurality of second ports is operatively connected to one or more computing devices of the network of computing devices;
- and
- connecting or disconnecting at least one pair of first ports of the plurality of first ports.
