Pick and place handler with a floating lock device

A semiconductor handler, comprising:

• a pickup head comprised of a semiconductor handler subassembly having an adjustment apparatus including an upper attachment, a collar, a floating lock configured to adjust and lock in place to a desired position and further configured to loosely fit between the upper attachment and the collar, and a tip attached to the floating lock and configured to engage a part, wherein the collar is configured to engage the upper attachment.

A semiconductor handler, comprising:

• a pickup head comprised of a semiconductor handler subassembly having an adjustment apparatus including an upper attachment, a floating lock positioned adjacent to the upper attachment, a tip attached to the floating lock and configured to engage a part, a lower attachment positioned adjacent to the floating lock, and a fastener, wherein the floating lock has an opening larger than a diameter of the fastener and is configured to adjust and lock in place to a desired position,
• wherein the fastener is inserted through an opening of the upper attachment and the opening of the floating lock, and
• wherein the lower attachment is configured to engage the fastener.

A method of adjusting a semiconductor handler subassembly, comprising the steps of:

• adjusting a floating lock into a desired position;
• and
• locking the floating lock in place.
