Abstract
Provided are compositions comprising aconitic acid, one or more acids selected from the group consisting of adipic acid, glutaric acid, and combinations thereof, and a carrier. Also provided are methods of disrupting a biofilm comprising applying to a surface having a biofilm a composition of the present invention.
Claims11
A composition comprising a carrier and a combination of acids selected from the group consisting of:
- a) from about 0.1% to about 2% by weight based on the total weight of the composition of glutaric acid and aconitic acid in a glutaric:aconitic acid ratio of about 1:1 to about 15:1;
- b) from about 0.1% to about 2% by weight based on the total weight of the composition of adipic acid and aconitic acid in a adipic:aconitic acid ratio of about 7:1 to about 17:1;
- and c) from about 0.31% to about 0.61% of adipic acid and aconitic acid in a adipic:aconitic acid ratio of about 1:1.
