Abstract
The present invention provides an inbred corn line designated CJ6085, methods for producing a corn plant by crossing plants of the inbred line CJ6085 with plants of another corn plant. The invention further encompasses all parts of inbred corn line CJ6085, including culturable cells. Additionally provided herein are methods for introducing transgenes into inbred corn line CJ6085, and plants produced according to these methods.
Claims19
A seed of maize variety CJ6085, wherein representative seed of said variety CJ6085 have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-122311.
A plant of maize variety CJ6085, wherein representative seed of said variety CJ6085 have been deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-122311.
A converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell of maize variety CJ6085, representative seed of the maize variety CJ6085 having been deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-122311, wherein the converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell comprises a locus conversion, and wherein the plant or a plant grown from the converted seed, plant part or plant cell comprises the locus conversion and otherwise comprises the essentially the same phenotypic characteristics of maize variety CJ6085 listed in Table 1 when grown under the same environmental conditions.
A process of introducing an additional trait into maize plant CJ6085, said process comprising:
- (a) crossing CJ6085 plants grown from CJ6085 seed, representative seed deposited under ATCC Accession Number PTA-122311, with another maize plant that comprises an additional trait to produce hybrid progeny plants, (b) selecting hybrid progeny plants that have the additional trait to produce selected hybrid progeny plants;
- (c) crossing the selected progeny plants with the CJ6085 plants to produce backcross progeny plants;
- (d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that have the additional trait to produce selected backcross progeny plants;
- and (e) repeating steps (c) and (d) at least three or more times to produce backcross progeny plants that comprise the additional trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of maize inbred plant CJ6085 when grown in the same environmental conditions.
