Abstract
An image forming apparatus includes an LED unit capable of being in an exposing position or a retracted position, and a cartridge capable of being inserted into or pulled out with the LED unit in the retracted position.
Claims9
An image forming apparatus configured to form an image on a recording medium, the image forming apparatus comprising:
- a main body to which a cartridge is mountable, the cartridge including a photosensitive drum, a first frame, a second frame, and a developing member, the photosensitive drum being interposed between the first frame and the second frame, the developing member being provided in the second frame and configured to supply developer to the photosensitive drum;
- and
- a cartridge opposing member provided opposed to the cartridge mounted to the main body, the cartridge opposing member comprising:
- (i) an intermediate portion disposed between the first frame and the second frame of the cartridge mounted to the main body;
- (ii) a light emitting portion provided in the intermediate portion and configured to emit a light toward the photosensitive drum of the cartridge mounted to the main body;
- and
- (iii) a detecting unit provided in a position opposed to the second frame and configured to detect the developer contained in the second frame.
