A method comprising combining a cement and an additive, wherein the additive comprises a polymer chain segment comprising
- wherein A is independently selected from SO3H, COOH, a sulfonic or carboxy salt of an alkali metal, ammonium, quaternary ammonium, an alkaline earth metal, Al3+, La3+, Ce3−, Fe3+, Cr3+, Mn2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Pb2+, or Sn2+.
A composition comprising a cement and an additive, wherein the additive comprises a polymer chain segment comprising
