Thermal type air flow meter having a reinforcing structure provided on the base member between the board fixing part and the secondary passage constituting part

A thermal type air flow meter for being placed in an intake passage of an internal combustion engine, the thermal type of air flow meter comprising:

• a molded resin component that includes a secondary passage into which part of air passing through the intake passage can flow;
• a flow rate detecting element placed in the secondary passage;
• and
• a circuit board that is electrically connected to the flow rate detecting element, receives an input of an amount of heat radiation from the flow rate detecting element, and outputs a signal according to an air flow rate,
• wherein the resin component includes:
• a board fixing part to which the circuit board is fixed;
• a secondary passage constituting part that is integrally formed with the board fixing part;
• and
• a reinforcing structure including a plurality of ribs that are formed integrally with the resin component and are provided on an outer surface of the board fixing part so as to protrude from the outer surface, the outer surface being arranged on a side opposite to a surface of the board fixing part to which the circuit board is fixed,
• wherein the ribs are provided on the outer surface in a grid pattern.
