Abstract
A disposable ophthalmic or medical apparatus has a portion with a color changeable dye disposed thereon. The dye changes color after being exposed to oxygen for a controlled and predetermined period of time indicating that the apparatus should no longer be used.
Claims17
An apparatus with time controlled color change indication comprising:
- a disposable, limited or restricted use product;
- and
- an oxygen sensing color changeable dye, the dye changing color after exposure to atmospheric oxygen for a defined time
- wherein the dye comprises a time-delay component to delay the time at which the dye changes color and
- wherein the dye indicates the condition of the disposable, limited or restricted use product.
