Abstract
An aqueous-based coating composition suitable as a container coating comprising: (A) a resinous phase comprising (i) an organic oil, (ii) an at least partially neutralized acid functional polymer containing reactive functional groups, (iii) a phenolic compound and an aldehyde or the reaction product thereof; the resinous phase dispersed in (B) aqueous medium.
Claims28
An aqueous-based coating composition comprising:
- (A) a resinous phase of
- (i) 10 to 30 percent by weight of an organic oil,
- (ii) 20 to 35 percent by weight of an at least partially neutralized acid functional polymer containing reactive functional groups,
- (iii) 15 to 60 percent by weight of a phenolic compound and an aldehyde or the reaction product thereof;
- the resinous phase dispersed in
- (B) aqueous medium;
- the percentages by weight being based on weight of resin solids in the coating composition.
