Abstract
A method of providing a patient with an implanted penile prosthetic adapted to provide improved flow of blood to a glans penis dilating a first portion of tissue in the corpora cavernosum and creating a first space and leaving a segment of vascularized tissue in the corpora cavernosum un-dilated and undisturbed, and engaging a channel formed in an exterior surface of a penile prosthetic with the segment of vascularized tissue.
Claims15
A method of providing a patient with an implanted penile prosthetic adapted to provide improved flow of blood to a glans penis, the method comprising:
- making an incision in the patient and exposing a corpora cavernosum of a penis;
- dilating a first portion of tissue in the corpora cavernosum and creating a first space and leaving a segment of vascularized tissue in the corpora cavernosum un-dilated and undisturbed;
- introducing a penile prosthesis into the first space in the corpora cavernosum with an insert positioning tool inserted, where the penile prosthesis includes a body having a channel formed in an exterior surface of the body and the insert positioning tool is inserted into the channel formed in the body of the penile prosthesis;
- and
- engaging the channel formed in the exterior surface of the body with the segment of vascularized tissue.
