Remote display of satellite receiver information

A method comprising:

• receiving, by a first computing device from a second computing device, a request for satellite receiver data, wherein the request for the satellite receiver data comprises a request for an instruction for aligning a satellite antenna, and wherein the first computing device is communicatively connected to the satellite antenna;
• receiving, by the first computing device, the satellite receiver data;
• based on the received satellite receiver data, determining the requested instruction for aligning the satellite antenna, wherein determining the requested instruction for aligning the satellite antenna comprises (i) determining a plurality of satellite antenna angles for aligning the satellite antenna with a plurality of satellites, (ii) determining an average satellite antenna angle based on the plurality of satellite antenna angles, and (iii) determining the requested instruction for aligning the satellite antenna based on the average satellite antenna angle;
• and
• transmitting, by the first computing device to the second computing device, the satellite receiver data, wherein the satellite receiver data comprises the requested instruction for aligning the satellite antenna.

A first computing device comprising;

• a communications interface;
• a processor;
• a non-transitory computer readable medium;
• and
• program instructions stored on the non-transitory computer readable medium that, when executed by the processor, cause the first computing device to perform functions comprising:
• receiving, by the first computing device from a second computing device, a request for satellite receiver data, wherein the request for the satellite receiver data comprises a request for an instruction for aligning a satellite antenna, and wherein the first computing device is communicatively connected to the satellite antenna;
• receiving, by the first computing device, the satellite receiver data;
• based on the received satellite receiver data, determining the requested instruction for aligning the satellite antenna, wherein determining the requested instruction for aligning the satellite antenna comprises (i) determining a plurality of satellite antenna angles for aligning the satellite antenna with a plurality of satellites, (ii) determining an average satellite antenna angle based on the plurality of satellite antenna angles, and (iii) determining the requested instruction for aligning the satellite antenna based on the average satellite antenna angle;
• and
• transmitting, by the first computing device to the second computing device, the satellite receiver data, wherein the satellite receiver data comprises the requested instruction for aligning the satellite antenna.
