In-store advertisement customization

A method comprising:

• determining, by a hardware processor, that a user is at a merchant location by detecting a location of a communication device of the user at the merchant location;
• determining, by the hardware processor, that one or more users are at the merchant location at a same time as the user by detecting one or more devices corresponding to the one or more users at the merchant location;
• retrieving, by the hardware processor, user preferences of the user and the one or more other users;
• customizing, by the hardware processor, an advertisement based on the user preferences of the user and the one or more other users;
• determining, by the hardware processor, that at least one of the user and the one or more other users have an age restriction based on the user preferences;
• in response to determining that at least one of the user and the one or more other users have an age restriction, removing content based on the age restriction from the advertisement;
• and
• communicating, by the hardware processor, information for presenting the advertisement to the user and the one or more other users to a presentation device installed at the merchant location.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations comprising:

• determining that a user is at a merchant location by detecting a location of a communication device of the user at the merchant location;
• determining that one or more other users are at the merchant location at a same time as the user by detecting one or more devices corresponding to the one or more other users at the merchant location;
• checking in the user and the one or more other users at the merchant location;
• retrieving user preferences of the user and the one or more other users;
• customizing an advertisement based on the user preferences of the user and the one or more other users;
• determining that at least one of the user and the one or more other users have an age restriction based on the user preferences;
• in response to determining that at least one of the user and the one or more other users have an age restriction, removing content based on the age restriction from the advertisement;
• and
• communicating information for presenting the advertisement to the user and the one or more other users to a presentation device installed at the merchant location.
