Method and apparatus for performing URL linkage function using the keypad

An apparatus for performing a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) linkage function using a keypad, the apparatus comprising:

• a display unit configured to display the keypad;
• a touch sensor configured to receive touch inputs on the display unit;
• a storage unit configured to store instructions;
• and
• a processor,
• wherein, upon execution of the instructions, the processor is configured to:
• in response to receiving a predetermined type of touch input on a predetermined key of the keypad, control the display unit to display a pop-up menu around the predetermined key, the pop-up menu including a URL item mapped to the predetermined key, and
• in response to receiving a touch input for selecting the URL item, control the display unit to display a webpage associated with the selected URL item in the pop-up menu.
