Abstract
Isolated polypeptides comprising the amino acid sequence of residues 378-413 of Mus musculus α-1-antitrypsyn (serpin A1c),active fragments thereof, and pharmaceutical compositions comprising same are described. The compositions are useful for treating burns, inflammatory, autoimmune and degenerative diseases.
Claims23
A method for treating inflammation in a subject in need thereof, said method comprising administering to a subject suffering from a disease selected from the group consisting of an autoimmune disease, a degenerative neurological disease, a degenerative muscle disease, graft rejection, graft versus host disease, allergy, a musculo-skeletal inflammation and sepsis a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising an isolated polypeptide of up to 50 amino acid comprising a sequence sharing at least 95% identity with the sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:
- 1, SEQ ID NO:
- 2, SEQ ID NO:
- 3 or SEQ ID NO:
- 4, and said isolated polypeptide diminishes or abrogates an inflammatory response in the subject.
