Claims13
A portable lighting device, comprising:
- a power source, a light source and electronics electrically coupled to form a circuit,
- a power switch that is electrically coupled to the circuit when engaged by a user;
- and
- one or more user interfaces that are each associated with a number of blink(s) of the light source;
- wherein the electronics are configured to acknowledge an opening of the circuit, to acknowledge a user engaging the power switch while the Circuit is closed, to provide power to the light source to emit a number of blink(s) and to acknowledge when the user disengages the power switch after a certain number of blink(s) to select the user interface.

A flashlight capable of providing different user interfaces to a user, comprising:
- a power source, a light source and electronics electrically coupled to form a circuit, a power switch that is electrically coupled to the circuit when engaged by the user;
- and
- one or more user interfaces that are stored in memory contained in the electronics and that are each associated with a number of blink(s) of the light source;
