Abstract
A powder composition includes starch, acrylic acid homopolymer salt, and clay. The powder composition forms an aqueous dispersion having a neutral pH when added to water and is capable of clinging to a surface.
Claims16
An aqueous dispersion comprising water and a powder composition, the powder composition consisting essentially of:
- (i) greater than about 50 weight percent starch;
- (ii) about 32-38 weight percent of an acrylic acid homopolymer, or an acrylic acid homopolymer salt;
- and
- (iii) about 0.5 to 7 weight percent of preservative;
- (iv) greater than about 1.5 weight percent of a compound comprising a combination of a vegetable oil and either a liquid olefin or a liquid paraffin;
- and
- wherein the powder composition is compatible with water to form an aqueous dispersion and the dispersion, when applied to a surface, is capable of clinging to the surface, the dispersion having a substantially neutral pH of about 6.5 to 7.5 and is thixotropic.

An aqueous dispersion comprising water and a powder composition, the powder composition comprising:
- (i) greater than about 50 weight percent starch;
- (ii) about 32-38 weight percent of an acrylic acid homopolymer, or an acrylic acid homopolymer salt;

- (v) about 1 to 10% clay;
- wherein the powder composition is compatible with water to form an aqueous dispersion and the dispersion, when applied to a surface, is capable of clinging to the surface, the dispersion having a substantially neutral pH of about 6.5 to 7.5 and is thixotropic.
