Abstract
A polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer includes a polysiloxane unit. The polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer can have superior melt flowability and ductility while maintaining high transparency and low haze.

A polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer comprising a polysiloxane unit represented by Formula 1:
- wherein:
- R1 and R2 are the same or different and are each independently C1-C10 alkyl, C6-C18 aryl, halogenated C1-C10 alkyl, alkoxylated C1-C10 alkyl, halogenated C6-C18 aryl or alkoxylated C6-C18 aryl,
- each X is the same or different and each is independently C6-C20 alkylene, and
- n is an integer from 20 to 100.

A method for preparing a polycarbonate-polysiloxane copolymer, comprising adding an aromatic dihydroxy compound and phosgene to a polysiloxane represented by Formula 2:
- wherein:
- R1 and R2 are the same or different and are each independently C1-C10 alkyl, C6-C18 aryl, halogenated C1-C10 alkyl, alkoxylated C1-C10 alkyl, halogenated C6-C18 aryl, or alkoxylated C6-C18 aryl,
- each X is the same or different and each is independently C6-C20 alkylene or C6-C18 arylene, and
- n is an integer from 20 to 100, and
- polymerizing the mixture.
