Claims3
A method of providing neuroprotection in case of stroke or ischemia to a subject in need thereof, said method comprising administering to said subject a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of Formula (I):
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein:
- R1 and R2 are independently F, Cl, Br or I;
- and,
- n is 0 or 1;
- wherein said pharmaceutically acceptable salt comprises a cationic counterion which itself does not provide therapeutically useful neuroprotection in case of stroke or ischemia to said subject.
A method of providing neuroprotection in case of stroke or ischemia to a subject in need thereof, said method comprising administering to said subject a therapeutically effective amount of 1,1′-binaphtyl-2,2′-diol -3,3′-dicarboxylic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof wherein said pharmaceutically acceptable salt comprises a cationic counterion which itself does not provide therapeutically useful neuroprotection in case of stroke or ischemia to said subject.
