Abstract
An inkjet ink includes an organic solvent, a resin, a surfactant, and a colorant. The ink has a decap time of at least about 1 minute.
Claims20
An inkjet ink comprising:
- an organic solvent, a resin, a surfactant, a humectant, and a colorant, wherein the organic solvent is selected from the group consisting of ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, and combinations thereof;
- wherein the ink optionally includes water up to about 5% by weight of the ink;
- wherein the binder resin is present in an amount from about 0.3 to about 8% by weight of the ink;
- wherein the organic solvent is present in an amount 60% or more by weight of the ink;
- wherein the humectant is present in an amount from about 3% to about 40% by weight of the ink and is selected from polyol, glycol ether, diacetone alcohol and mixtures thereof;
- and wherein the ink is suitable for use in a thermal ink jet printer and has a decap time of at least about 1 minute.
