Abstract
A hair styling device is described, having a body defining a chamber adapted to accommodate a length of hair, with the length of hair being styled while it is located within the chamber. The chamber has a primary opening through which the length of hair may pass into the chamber. A rotatable element is provided which is adapted to engage the length of hair adjacent to the primary opening. An elongate member is located within the chamber, the length of hair being wound around the elongate member by the rotatable element. The device has a pressing part adapted to press a portion of the length of hair towards the primary opening.
Claims16
A hair styling device having:
- a body defining a chamber adapted to accommodate a length of hair, the chamber having a primary opening through which the length of hair may enter the chamber, the primary opening being fixed in relation to the body;
- a rotatable element which is rotatably mounted upon the body and which is adapted to engage the length of hair adjacent to the primary opening;
- an elongate member around which, in use, the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element;
- and
- a pressing part which is movable relative to the body towards and away from the primary opening, the pressing part being adapted to press a portion of the length of hair towards the primary opening as the pressing part moves towards the primary opening.
A method of styling hair comprising the steps of:
- {i} providing a hair styling device having a body defining a chamber adapted to accommodate a length of hair, the chamber having a primary opening through which the length of hair may enter the chamber, the primary opening being fixed in relation to the body;
- a rotatable element which is rotatably mounted upon the body;
- an elongate member;
- and
- a pressing part which is movable relative to the body towards and away from the primary opening,
- {ii} locating the length of hair adjacent to the primary opening;
- then
- {iii} moving the pressing part towards the primary opening and pressing the length of hair towards the primary opening;
- and then
- {iv} actuating the rotatable element to rotate, the rotatable element engaging the length of hair adjacent to the primary opening and winding the length of hair around the elongate member.
