A method for treating endocrine tumors by administration of an mTOR inhibitor, optionally in combination with another drug.

A method for treating pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, comprising administering to a human subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of 40-O-(2-hydroxyethyl)-rapamycin as a monotherapy and wherein the tumors are advanced tumors after failure of cytotoxic chemotherapy.
