Abstract
Non-expandable space-occupying devices for treating voids within the body are disclosed. The devices can have multiple non-expandable space-occupying elements connected to a flexible leaden. Methods of making and using the devices are also disclosed.
Claims20
A device for filling a void within a body comprising:
- a first space-occupying element comprising a first male interference-fit piece, wherein the first male interference-fit piece is solid;
- and
- a second space-occupying element comprising a first female interference-fit piece coupled to the first male interference-fit piece, wherein the second space-occupying element comprises a longitudinal axis, and wherein the first female interference-fit piece comprises a lateral open wall relative to the longitudinal axis.
A device for filling a void within the body comprising:
- a first space-occupying element comprising, a spherical interference-fit piece, wherein the spherical interference-fit piece is solid;
- and
- a second space-occupying element comprising a female interference-fit piece coupled to the spherical interference-fit piece, wherein the second space-occupying element comprises a longitudinal axis, and wherein the female interference-fit piece comprises a lateral open wall relative to the longitudinal axis.
