Abstract
Pyridine compounds effective in modulation STAT3 and/or STAT5 activation are provided that are useful in the prevention and treatment of proliferative disease and conditions including cancer, inflammation and proliferative skin disorders.

A method of treating cancer comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of the formula:
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of any of the above formulas, wherein the cancer is brain cancer, ovarian cancer, or pancreatic cancer.
