Abstract
The present invention relates generally to systems and methods for measuring an analyte in a host. More particularly, the present invention relates to systems and methods for transcutaneous measurement of glucose in a host.
Claims5
A method for calibrating a continuous glucose monitoring system, comprising:
- positioning at least a portion of a glucose sensor in a body of a user;
- obtaining a plurality of signals from the glucose sensor;
- determining, using a processor, an acceleration of glucose level increase or decrease based on the obtained signal;
- and
- determining, using the processor, whether calibration is appropriate based on the determined acceleration, wherein determining whether calibration is appropriate comprises comparing the determined acceleration to a predetermined value, and wherein, when the determined acceleration is above the predetermined value, determining that calibration is not appropriate.
