Abstract
The apparatus, systems, and methods described herein may operate to receive at least one data packet from a transmitter connected to a first network. A packet forwarding time may be scheduled for the at least one data packet. The at least one data packet may be forwarded to a receiver connected to a second network based on the packet forwarding time such that transmission of the at least one data packet prevents a buffer overflow at the receiver.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- receiving at least one data packet from a transmitter connected to a first network;
- scheduling a packet forwarding time for the at least one data packet;
- and
- forwarding the at least one data packet to a receiver connected to a second network based on the packet forwarding time such that transmission of the at least one data packet prevents a buffer overflow at the receiver, wherein a number of the at least one data packet to be forwarded to the receiver is determined based on amount of buffers freed-up at the receiver and amount of data packets received at the receiver during a round-trip-delay.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a receiving module to receive at least one data packet from a transmitter connected to a first network;
- a scheduling module to schedule a packet forwarding time for the at least one data packet;
- and
- a forwarding module to forward the at least one data packet to a receiver connected to a second network based on the packet forwarding time such that transmission of the at least one data packet prevents a buffer overflow at the receiver, wherein a number of the at least one data packet to be forwarded to the receiver is determined based on amount of buffers freed-up at the receiver and amount of data packets received at the receiver during a round-trip-delay.
The apparatus of 10, wherein the forwarding module is configured to enable suppression of lost events without the need for splitting data flow.
A computer-readable non-transitory storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method comprising:
- receiving at least one data packet from a transmitter connected to a first network;
- scheduling a packet forwarding time for the at least one data packet;
- and
- forwarding the at least one data packet to a receiver connected to a second network based on the packet forwarding time such that transmission of the at least one data packet prevents a buffer overflow at the receiver, wherein a number of the at least one data packet to be forwarded to the receiver is determined based on amount of buffers freed-up at the receiver and amount of data packets received at the receiver during a round-trip-delay.
