Abstract
Gallium-niobium oxide catalysts are disclosed herein for converting linear olefinic hydrocarbons to branched olefinic hydrocarbons through isomerization, the latter being capable for use fuel for their desirable properties.
Claims8
A process for catalytic isomerisation of linear, olefinic hydrocarbons, comprising the steps of:
- contacting linear olefinic hydrocarbon reactants with a catalyst;
- and
- isolating branched olefinic hydrocarbon products,
- wherein the catalyst is a solid gallium-niobium mixed oxide catalyst having a synthesis mole ratio of gallium to niobium between about 0.2:1 and 6.6:1 and a surface area of at least 210 m2/g.
