Polycrystalline diamond compacts, methods of fabricating same, and applications therefor

A method of fabricating a polycrystalline diamond compact, comprising:

• providing an at least partially leached polycrystalline diamond table including a plurality of interstitial regions therein, wherein the at least partially leached polycrystalline diamond table exhibits a non-cylindrical-shaped geometry;
• partially graphitizing the at least partially leached polycrystalline diamond table to form a partially graphitized polycrystalline diamond table;
• positioning the partially graphitized polycrystalline diamond table adjacent to a substrate;
• and
• subjecting the partially graphitized polycrystalline diamond table and the substrate to a high-pressure/high-temperature process to form the polycrystalline diamond compact.
