Abstract
A method and apparatus for sensing a sleeping condition of a user, including measuring a physiological signal of a user who is sleeping, determining whether or not a predetermined motion artifact is contained in the measured physiological signal, and determining that the user goes into an awake state when the predetermined motion artifact is contained in the measured physiological signal.
Claims26
A method of sensing a sleeping condition of a body, the method comprising:
- detecting a physiological signal of a body using a physiological signal measuring module;
- detecting a predetermined motion artifact that identifies movement of the body from the detected physiological signal;
- determining, using at least one processing device, whether the body has gone into an awake state based on the predetermined motion artifact being detected in the detected physiological signal;
- and
- predicting a next awake state based on a time interval of the determined awake state during a period of sleep,
- wherein the physiological signal is an electrocardiogram (ECG).
A method of sensing a sleeping condition of a user, the method comprising:
- measuring a physiological signal of a user who is sleeping using a physiological signal measuring module;
- determining, using at least one processing device, whether or not a predetermined motion artifact is contained in the measured physiological signal, including extracting a low-frequency component signal from the measured physiological signal, calculating the maximum value and the minimum value of the extracted low-frequency component signal within a predetermined time interval, and determining that the motion artifact is contained in the measured physiological signal within the predetermined time interval when a difference between the maximum value and the minimum value is greater than a predetermined threshold value;
- determining that the user always goes into an awake state when the predetermined motion artifact is contained in the measured physiological signal;
- and
- predicting a next awake state based on a time interval of the determined awake state during a period of sleep,
- wherein the physiological signal is an electrocardiogram (ECG).
An apparatus for sensing a sleeping condition of a body, comprising:
- a physiological signal-detecting module configured to detect a physiological signal of a body using a physiological signal measuring module;
- a physiological signal-processing module configured to detect a predetermined motion artifact that identifies movement of the body from the detected physiological signal;
- and
- a determination module configured to determine whether the body has gone into an awake state based on the predetermined motion artifact being detected in the detected physiological signal,
- wherein a next awake state is predicted based on a time interval of the determined awake state during a period of sleep, and
- wherein the physiological signal is an electrocardiogram (ECG).
