Abstract
An ink jet print head is provided which can improve throughput by increasing an ink ejection frequency and prevent crosstalk among a plurality of heat application portions, realizing a capability of printing high-quality images at high speed. An opening size of the supply ports in a direction perpendicular to the array direction of the heat application portions is made greater than the length in the direction of electrothermal conversion elements. The supply ports are arranged along the array direction so that they adjoin the heat application portions in the array direction.
Claims23
An ink jet print head comprising:
- an orifice plate formed with an ejection opening array in which a plurality of ejection openings capable of ejecting ink are arranged in a first direction;
- and
- a board formed with an element array, in which a plurality of elements for generating an energy used for ejecting ink are arranged in the first direction, and formed with a supply port array in which a plurality of supply ports which penetrate through the board for supplying ink to the elements are arranged in the first direction,
- wherein the elements and the supply ports are alternately positioned with respect to the first direction, and
- wherein the length of the supply ports, in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, is greater than the length of the elements in the second direction.
An ink jet print head comprising:
- an orifice plate formed with an ejection opening capable of ejecting ink;
- and
- a board formed with an element for generating an energy used for ejecting ink and formed with first and second supply ports which penetrate through the board for supplying ink to the element,
- wherein the element is arranged between the first supply port and second supply port which are arrayed in a first direction,
- wherein the length of the first and second supply ports, in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, are greater than the length of the element in the second direction.
