Method for taking action based on a request related to an electronic media work

A method comprising:

• receiving, at a user electronic device from a computer system including at least one computer, an electronic media work comprising audio and/or video along with one or more associated tags;
• displaying, by the user electronic device, the electronic media work;
• generating, at the user electronic device as a result of input from a user input device, a request related to at least one of the one or more associated tags;
• sending the request from the user electronic device to the computer system;
• receiving, at the user electronic device from the computer system in response to the request, machine-readable instructions generated at the computer system for an action to be performed and based upon associated information stored by the computer system related to the action to be performed in association with one or more electronic media works, wherein the associated information is determined by the computer system using a non-exhaustive, near-neighbor search to correlate the electronic media work with an electronic media work identifier associated with the associated information;
• and
• performing, at the user electronic device, the action using the machine-readable instructions.
