Abstract
The present invention is directed towards compositions having lecithin and a plasticizer. Processes for producing such compositions are further disclosed. The present invention is also directed towards uses of the novel compositions as a dispersant in order to disperse compounds, such as in the fields of coatings, inks, cosmetics and the like. In one embodiment, the dispersants of the present invention are used to disperse pigments.
Claims12
A composition comprising:
- a crude filtered lecithin;
- a plasticizer selected from the group consisting of di-(2-ethylhexyl) adipate (DEHA), dioctyl adipate (DOA), and combinations of any thereof:
- and
- a co-surfactant selected from the group consisting of a tall fatty acid ethoxylate, an anionic aliphatic phosphate ester, and combinations of any thereof.

A composition comprising:
- a crude filtered lecithin comprises from 80% to 90% by weight of the composition;
- a plasticizer selected from the group consisting of di-(2-ethylhexyl) adipate (DEHA), dioctyl adipate (DOA), and combinations of any thereof, the plasticizer comprising from 5% to 10% by weight of the composition;
- and
- a co-surfactant comprising from 5% to 15% by weight of the composition.
