Abstract
A liquid ink including (a) a carrier, (b) a colorant including nanodiamond black, and (c) a polymeric additive selected from the group including Gum Arabic, polyacrylate salts, polymethacrylate salts, polyvinyl alcohols, hydroxyl propylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidinone, polyvinyl ether, starch, polysaccharides, polyethylene imines derivatized with polyethylene oxide, polyethylene imines derivatized with polypropylene oxide, and mixtures thereof.
Claims18
An aqueous ink comprising (a) an aqueous liquid ink carrier (b) a colorant comprising nanodiamond black;
- and (c) a polymeric additive selected from the group consisting of Gum Arabic, polyacrylate salts, polymethacrylate salts, polyvinyl alcohols, hydroxyl propylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidinone, polyvinyl ether, starch, polysaccharides, polyethylene imines derivatized with polyethylene oxide, polyethylene imines derivatized with polypropylene oxide, and mixtures thereof.
A process which comprises (a) incorporating into an ink jet printing apparatus an aqueous ink comprising an aqueous liquid vehicle, a colorant comprising nanodiamond black;
- and a polymeric additive selected from the group consisting of Gum Arabic, polyacrylate salts, polymethacrylate salts, polyvinyl alcohols, hydroxyl propylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidinone, polyvinyl ether, starch, polysaccharides, polyethylene imines derivatized with polyethylene oxide, polyethylene imines derivatized with polypropylene oxide, and mixtures thereof;
- and (b) causing droplets of the ink to be ejected in an imagewise pattern onto a substrate.
