Abstract
A method includes determining, at a processor, whether a number of points of drawing data associated with a part satisfies a threshold. The method further includes identifying the drawing data as validated geometry data when the number of points satisfies the threshold.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- identifying, at a processor, a number of points of drawing data included in a drawing file, the number of points associated with a part having a part type;
- selecting, at the processor, a threshold number of points from a data structure, the threshold number of points selected by the processor based on the part type;
- comparing, at the processor, the number of points to the threshold number of points to determine whether the number of points satisfies the threshold number of points;
- and
- writing geometry data based on the drawing data to a data file, wherein the geometry data is written based on a determination by the processor that the number of points satisfies the threshold number of points.

An apparatus comprising:
- a memory storing instructions;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory, wherein the processor is configured to execute the instructions to:
- identify a number of points of drawing data included in a drawing file, the drawing data associated with a part having a part type;
- identify a threshold number of points, the threshold number of points provided by a finite element model generation application, the finite element model generation application configured to generate a finite element model based on validated drawing data;
- determine whether the number of points of drawing data satisfies the threshold number of points;
- and
- initiate display of a first indicator to be provided via a user interface, wherein the first indicator indicates that the drawing data is the validated drawing data, the first indicator provided based on the number of points satisfying the threshold number of points.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to:
- receive first drawing data from a drawing file, the first drawing data corresponding to a two-dimensional representation of a first part;
- determine a first number of points of the received first drawing data;
- determine whether the first number of points satisfies a first threshold number of points;
- and
- validate the first drawing data to be used to generate a finite element model based on the first number of points satisfying the first threshold number of points.
