Abstract
Technologies are generally described for estimating a quality of experience (QoE) based on movements of a mobile device in a telecommunication system. In some examples, a mobile device may include a detection unit configured to detect a first movement of the mobile device and a second movement of the mobile device, a timer configured to measure a time interval between the first movement and the second movement detected by the detection unit, and a decision unit configured to determine whether the first and second movements are related to telecommunication quality of the mobile device based on the time interval measured by the timer.
Claims17
A mobile device comprising:
- a detection unit configured to detect a first movement of the mobile device and a second movement of the mobile device;
- a timer configured to measure a time interval between the first movement and the second movement detected by the detection unit;
- and
- a decision unit configured to determine that telecommunication quality of the mobile device is being checked based on the first movement, the second movement, and the time interval between the first movement and the second movement being within a predetermined range, the predetermined range being adjusted based on a usage pattern of the mobile device.
A method for measuring telecommunication quality of a mobile device, the method comprising:
- detecting a first movement of the mobile device;
- detecting a second movement of the mobile device, the detecting the first movement of the mobile device and the detecting the second movement of the mobile device being based on an on/off status of a display of the mobile device;
- measuring a time interval between the first movement and the second movement of the mobile device;
- and
- determining that telecommunication quality of the mobile device is being checked based on the first movement, the second movement, and the time interval between the first movement and the second movement being within a predetermined range.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium whose contents, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
- detect a first movement of a mobile device;
- detect a second movement of the mobile device, the detection of the first movement of the mobile device and the detection of the second movement of the mobile device being based on an on/off status of a display of the mobile device;
- measure a time interval between the first movement and the second movement of the mobile device;
- and
- determine that telecommunication quality of the mobile device is being checked, based on the first movement, the second movement, and the time interval between the first movement and the second movement being within a predetermined range.
