Abstract
A tin-carbon compound that is a reaction product of tin and carbon, wherein the tin and the carbon form a single phase material that is meltable. The compound is one in which the carbon does not phase separate from the tin when the single phase material is heated to a melting temperature.
Claims20
A metal-carbon composition comprising:
- tin and carbon, wherein the tin and the carbon form a single phase material formed by mixing carbon into the tin while molten under conditions that chemically react the tin and the carbon, and wherein the single phase material is meltable and the carbon does not phase separate from the tin when the single phase material is subsequently re-melted.
A metal-carbon composition consisting essentially of
- tin and carbon, wherein the tin and the carbon form a single phase material formed by mixing carbon into the tin while molten under conditions that chemically react the tin and the carbon, and wherein the single phase material is meltable and the carbon does not phase separate from the tin when the single phase material is subsequently re-melted.
A tin-carbon compound comprising:
- a reaction product of tin and carbon that is a single phase material, wherein the single phase material is meltable, and the carbon does not phase separate from the tin when the single phase material is subsequently re-melted.
