Abstract
A lead-carbon compound that is a reaction product of lead and carbon, wherein the lead and the carbon form a single phase material that is meltable. The compound is one in which the carbon does not phase separate from the lead when the single phase material is heated to a melting temperature.
Claims20
A metal-carbon composition comprising:
- lead and carbon, wherein the lead and the carbon form a single phase material formed by mixing carbon into the lead while molten under conditions that chemically react the lead and the carbon, and wherein the single phase material is meltable and the carbon does not phase separate from the lead when the single phase material is subsequently re-melted.
A metal-carbon composition consisting essentially of
- lead and carbon, wherein the lead and the carbon form a single phase material formed by mixing carbon into the lead while molten under conditions that chemically react the lead and the carbon, and wherein the single phase material is meltable and the carbon does not phase separate from the lead when the single phase material is subsequently re-melted.
A lead-carbon compound comprising:
- a reaction product of lead and carbon that is a single phase material, wherein the single phase material is meltable, and the carbon does not phase separate from the lead when the single phase material is subsequently re-melted.
