Abstract
The invention provides an assay method for the detection of a primary amine analyze in an aqueous body fluid, which method comprises contacting a sample of said body fluid at a pH below 9.5 with a thiol and an unsaturated cis-dialdehyde and testing for the presence of a pyrrole reaction product.
Claims14
An assay method for the detection of a primary amine analyte in an aqueous body fluid, which method comprises contacting a sample of said body fluid at a pH below 9.5 with a thiol and an unsaturated cis-dialdehyde and testing for the presence of a pyrrole reaction product, wherein the presence of a pyrrole reaction product is tested for electrochemically.
An assay cartridge comprising a casing having an aperture for placement of a body fluid sample and containing a water-absorbent pad, a thiol, and an unsaturated cis-dialdehyde, and at least two electrodes capable of being in electrical contact through said pad when said pad is moist.
