Vasoocclusive coil with enhanced therapeutic strand structure

An apparatus for release and deployment of a stretch resistant therapeutic device within a patient's vasculature, comprising:

• an elongated pusher member including a pusher member connector fiber forming a first loop of fiber fixedly attached to said elongated pusher member;
• a vasoocclusive coil having a proximal end and a distal end, said vasoocclusive coil defining a lumen between said proximal and distal ends, said vasoocclusive coil including a second loop of fiber connected to the proximal end of the coil, wherein said second loop of fiber of said vasoocclusive coil detachably mounts said vasoocclusive coil to the first loop of fiber formed by the pusher member connector fiber, said elongated pusher member having a distal end adjacent to said proximal end of said vasoocclusive coil;
• and
• a stretch resistant member extending through said lumen of said vasoocclusive coil, said stretch resistant member being fixedly attached to said vasoocclusive coil, said stretch resistant member including a third loop of fiber connected to said stretch resistant member, said first loop of fiber extending through said third loop of fiber to detachably mount said stretch resistant member to said elongated pusher member to allow for placement of the vasoocclusive coil within the patient's vasculature.
