- (a) culturing B. parapertussis cells at 35° C. to 37° C. using filamentous hemagglutinin (FHA) as an index to produce a B. parapertussis culture preparation with a final cell concentration of 1010 cells/mL;
- (b) inactivating the B. parapertussis cells by adding a formalin solution comprising formaldehyde at a final concentration of 0.2% to the B. parapertussis culture preparation;
- and
- (c) administering the inactivated B. parapertussis cells as whole cells, as a whole-cell homogenate thereof, or as a cell lysate thereof to the subject.
