Trusted barcodes

A computer-implemented method performed by a certificate authority for providing response data corresponding to target content data, the method comprising:

• receiving request data that includes an identifier;
• extracting the identifier, via a processor, from the request data;
• retrieving the response data corresponding to the target content data from a storage medium based on the identifier, wherein the response data and the identifier are associated with an n-dimensional barcode;
• verifying the target content data;
• and
• transmitting the retrieved response data to an electronic device.

A certificate authority system for generating resolution data having a trusted content, the certificate authority comprising:

• a receiver configured to receive target content data;
• a target verifier configured to verify the target content data;
• a response generator configured to generate response data based on the verifying by the target verifier and generate an identifier corresponding to the response data;
• a storage medium configured to store the response data, the identifier, and a mapping between the response data and the identifier;
• a resolution generator configured to generate the resolution data comprising an n-dimensional barcode that includes identifier information corresponding to the identifier and address information corresponding to an internet protocol (IP) address of the certificate authority;
• and
• a transmitter configured to provide the resolution data to a user.
