System and method to transform results of client requests using client uploaded presentation formats

A tangible computer readable storage device comprising instructions that when executed by a processor execute a process comprising:

• receiving from a client or a user a presentation format to a database on a network-based commerce system;
• storing the presentation format in the database;
• validating syntax of the presentation format and applying a scrubber process to the validation format to check for malicious content;
• using the presentation format and one or more test documents to transform the test documents;
• marking the presentation format as active when the syntax is validated, the scrubber process finds no malicious content, and the one or more test documents are transformed;
• receiving from the client or the user a request to said network-based commerce system;
• and
• formatting a response to said request on the network-based commerce system in a readily displayable format using said received presentation format.

A system comprising:

• a computer processor configured for:
• receiving from a client or a user a presentation format to a database on a network-based commerce system;
• storing the presentation format in the database;
• validating syntax of the presentation format and applying a scrubber process to the validation format to check for malicious content;
• using the presentation format and one or more test documents to transform the test documents;
• marking the presentation format as active when the syntax is validated, the scrubber process finds no malicious content, and the one or more test documents are transformed;
• receiving from the client or the user a request to said network-based commerce system;
• and
• formatting a response to said request on the network-based commerce system in a readily displayable format using said received presentation format.
