Abstract
A portable terminal is capable of enhancing a Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) rating by having an arrangement to shift a peak region of an electromagnetic field occurring at the time of a wireless communication in a call mode, to a position far from a measuring region.
Claims6
A portable terminal, comprising:
- a body having an audio output unit on a front surface thereof and an antenna forming an electromagnetic field;
- a sliding unit mounted to the body, the sliding unit having a front portion covering a portion of the front surface of the body and a rear portion covering a portion of a rear surface of the body;
- a peak shift unit electrically connected to the antenna, for shifting a peak region of the electromagnetic field to a position farther from the audio output unit when the peak shift unit is activated than when the peak shift unit is non-activated;
- and
- a controller configured to place the portable terminal in a call mode when the peak shift unit is activated,
- wherein the peak shift unit includes a conductive member having one end connected to the antenna, the conductive member being movable toward and away from the antenna, and the conductive member being mounted at the rear portion of the sliding unit.
