Compositions and methods for treatment of inflammatory and cell proliferation disorders using natriuretic hormone peptide (NP), polynucleotides encoding NP, or agents that reduce the activity of atrial natriuretic peptide receptor A (NPR-A).

A method of inhibiting the growth of cancer cells in a patient, comprising administering a polynucleotide encoding a natriuretic hormone peptide (NP) and an operably-linked promoter sequence, to the patient, wherein the cancer cells comprise lung cancer cells, breast cancer cells, ovarian cancer cells, or melanoma cells.
