A method of treating a human suffering from candidiasis, comprising topically administering to the human an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition, wherein the pharmaceutical composition is in the form of an ointment and comprises a compound of the formula

- miconazole nitrate;
- zinc oxide;
- white petrolatum;
- and
- trihydroxystearin.
A method of treating a human suffering from candidiasis, comprising topically administering to the human an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition, wherein the pharmaceutical composition is in the form of an ointment and consists of a compound of the formula
- miconazole nitrate;
- zinc oxide;
- white petrolatum;
- trihydroxystearin;
- and
- optionally a fragrance.
