Abstract
Methods are provided for the identification, biochemical characterization and therapeutic use of agents which impact PTEN, p53, PI-kinase and AKT mediated cellular signaling.

A method for inhibiting metastasis of cancer cells in a patient in need thereof, comprising the administration of an effective amount of a PI-3 kinase inhibitor, said method further comprising assessing said patient for tumor invasion distant from site of origin following administration of said PI-3 kinase inhibitor.
