Claims17
A method for treating prostate neoplasia in a subject, comprising the step of administering an effective amount of a composition to said subject to treat said prostate neoplasia, said composition comprising, in combination:
- (a) therapeutically effective amounts of supercritical extracts of rosemary, turmeric, oregano and ginger;
- therapeutically effective amounts of hydroalcoholic extracts of holy basil, ginger, turmeric, Scutellaria baicalensis, rosemary, green tea, huzhang, Chinese goldthread, and barberry;
- and
- (b) a therapeutically effective amount of an antineoplastic agent selected from the group consisting of mitoxantrone, doxorubicin, vinblastine, paclitaxel, docetaxel, estramustine phosphate, etoposide, carboplatin, vinorelbine, and a combination thereof,
- and provided that said prostate neoplasia is not prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia.
A method for treating at least one cancerous tumor of the prostate in a subject, comprising the step of administering an effective amount of a composition to said subject to treat said tumor, said composition comprising, in combination:
- (a) therapeutically effective amounts of supercritical extracts of rosemary, turmeric, oregano and ginger;
- therapeutically effective amounts of hydroalcoholic extracts of holy basil, ginger, turmeric, Scutellaria baicalensis, rosemary, green tea, huzhang, Chinese goldthread, and barberry;
- and
- (b) a therapeutically effective amount of an antineoplastic agent selected from the group consisting of mitoxantrone, doxorubicin, vinblastine, paclitaxel, docetaxel, estramustine phosphate, etoposide, carboplatin, vinorelbine, and a combination thereof.
A method for minimizing a side effect associated with prostate neoplasia in a subject, comprising administering an effective amount of a composition to said subject to treat said side effect, said composition comprising, in combination:
- (a) therapeutically effective amounts of supercritical extracts of rosemary, turmeric, oregano and ginger;
- therapeutically effective amounts of hydroalcoholic extracts of holy basil, ginger, turmeric, Scutellaria baicalensis, rosemary, green tea, huzhang, Chinese goldthread, and barberry;
- and
- (b) a therapeutically effective amount of an antineoplastic agent selected from the group consisting of mitoxantrone, doxorubicin, vinblastine, paclitaxel, docetaxel, estramustine phosphate, etoposide, carboplatin, vinorelbine, and a combination thereof,
- wherein said side effect is selected from the group consisting of disrupted sexual desire or performance on either a temporary or permanent basis, impotence, and urinary incontinence.
A method for minimizing an effect associated with prostate neoplasia in a subject, comprising administering an effective amount of a composition to said subject to minimize said effect, said composition comprising, in combination:
- (a) therapeutically effective amounts of supercritical extracts of rosemary, turmeric, oregano and ginger;
- therapeutically effective amounts of hydroalcoholic extracts of holy basil, ginger, turmeric, Scutellaria baicalensis, rosemary, green tea, huzhang, Chinese goldthread, and barberry;
- and
- (b) a therapeutically effective amount of an antineoplastic agent selected from the group consisting of mitoxantrone, doxorubicin, vinblastine, paclitaxel, docetaxel, estramustine phosphate, etoposide, carboplatin, vinorelbine, and a combination thereof,
- wherein said effect is selected from the group consisting of extensive monitoring for progression of the disease and stress of illness.
