Abstract
An oxidized olefin wax useful as a pour point depressant for hydrocarbon compositions and/or additive to reduce the wax particle size of wax precipitates in hydrocarbon compositions is described. Method for reducing the pour point and/or wax particle size of hydrocarbon composition with an oxidized olefin wax are described.
Claims29
A composition comprising a hydrocarbon composition and from 0.0005 to 2.0 weight percent of an oxidized alpha olefin wax pour point depressant having a viscosity at 100° C. between 13.3 and 70.5 cSt.
A method to decrease a pour point of a hydrocarbon composition comprising adding an oxidized alpha olefin wax having a viscosity at 100° C. between 13.3 and 70.5 cSt to the hydrocarbon composition.
A method of decreasing an average wax particle size in a hydrocarbon composition comprising adding an oxidized alpha olefin wax having a viscosity at 100° C. between 13.3 and 70.5 cSt to the hydrocarbon composition.
A method to decrease a pour point of a hydrocarbon composition consisting essentially of adding an oxidized alpha olefin wax concentrate to the hydrocarbon composition, wherein the oxidized alpha olefin wax has a viscosity at 100° C. between 13.3 and 70.5 cSt.
