Abstract
A pickup apparatus comprising a housing equipped with components for reading data on a medium, the housing being disposed with a bearing portion correspondingly to a shaft member supporting the housing movable, the bearing portion being disposed with a crack generation preventing portion that preventing the housing from becoming cracked when an impact is applied to the housing with the shaft member disposed in the bearing portion.

A pickup apparatus comprising
- a housing equipped with components for reading data on a medium,
- the housing being disposed with a bearing portion correspondingly to a shaft member supporting the housing movably,
- the bearing portion being disposed with a crack generation preventing portion that prevents the housing from becoming cracked when an impact is applied to the housing with the shaft member disposed in the bearing portion,
- wherein the crack generation preventing portion includes a notch portion bored deeply toward an interior of the bearing portion.
